When testing out a point of sale system make sure the company is willing to show the entire full demo with explanations. Most companies fail to provide this often leaving the customer with a 300 plus page instructional book and a complex program. Of course there is no surprise that any good point of sale system would appear rather complex at first, of course anyone would find anything new complex the point of sales here is to have the company explain.
Several question come up because of this: does the software require additional and rather strange steps to take to achieve a certain objective? is the software “automatic” that being does the software have features such as auto-save which do not require the user to always keep the smallest of features in mind? Let’s face it, most companies do not have such an easy to use program and dedicated staff to actually help out the customer, only NAS Corp. have such dedicated staff.
What to do if one comes across a simple point of sale software? If the software is simple from the start, BEWARE. Yes this is a strange thing to state but software that has minimal features is very simplistic and useless. simple features are the basics of point of sale systems but there are more features necessary that one may not realize until they are running the store and realize them too late. Over complicated software? Well anything new will appear complicated, if the company is willing and capable of showing and understanding like NAS Corp. then try it out but remember only NAS Corp. has the fully dedicated staff to resolve any issues whatsoever and unlike companies that place the customer on a long hold NAS Corp does not.
